Abstract

A short story: "Sometimes it feels as if I could leech out into nothing, pull a string — just to see what happens. I rarely think before I act and I always act before I speak. Sometimes I act and never speak again."

Author Biography

Sally Breen, Griffith University

Dr Sally Breen is the author of The Causals (2011) and Atomic City (2013). Her short form creative and non-fiction work has appeared widely with regular features in a wide variety of national and international publications including Overland, Best Australian Stories, Review of Australian Fiction, The Griffith REVIEW, Meniscus, Asia Literary Review, Open Road Review and The Conversation. Dr Breen is fiction editor of the Griffith REVIEW, board member and Treasurer of Asia Pacific Writers and Translators and Senior Lecturer in Writing and Publishing at Griffith University.
