Escape to Elba—Italy
Abstract
My self-imposed exile for the weekend was more involved than I'd expected. A sweaty, mile-long walk to the train station in Siena. Three trains, one with a connection that looked like a scene out of Psycho, deserted and eerie and small-Montepescali, that's what it was called. Then a ferry. And a local bus. Almost an entire day of travel.
