Abstract

In this essay John Vrolyk undertakes an examination and contextualisation of Jean de Bazin's lexical computer analysis of La Princess de Clèves by Madame de Lafayette. The paper highlights the role of word choice in context in achieving stylistic outcomes that it proposes is often overlooked in discussions of literary art.
