Abstract

In this article Alexander Buzo uses the phenomenon of plagiarism to make observations about the different standards of literary criticism across national boundaries. Buzo contends that in the case of plagiarism the critic becomes emotionally removed from the text and that in this remove a level of insight into matters of regional difference can be obtained.
