Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.
JRE is indexed in Google Scholar. JRE is a registered journal with Sherpa Romeo. JRE exports articles metadata in CrossRef XML and DataCite formats and it applies Dublin Core meta tags in article views for indexing purposes. JRE is published through an Open Journal Systems as part of the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).
Preparation of your Manuscripts
- Names and institutional affiliations – including country – and addresses of all
contributing authors are required. - One author must be designated as the corresponding author.
- The manuscript must include: a maximum 200-word abstract and up to six keywords
- Ensure the manuscript is spell checked and grammar checked before submission
- Ensure all references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
- Bibliographic information (the reference list) must be in Roman Script
- For all images and graphs, ensure appropriate permissions are obtained from the source
- For title, abstract, and the body of the paper, the language must be clear and comprehensible to the global audience
- Content of the manuscript must be consistent with the scope of JRE

Manscripts should include:
- For empirical papers: a statement of principal findings
- The strengths and weaknesses of the study, including those found in the study design and methods.
- The meaning of the study for practice (if applicable), including implications for professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
- A discussion of unanswered questions and directions for future research.
Author Rights
For open access publishing, JRE uses a licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright alongside scholarly usage rights. Authors grant JRE a license to publish their article and identify itself as the original publisher.
Fee Structure
JRE is a Platinum Open Access journal, meaning there are no charges for readers or authors. Authors are not required to pay any Article Processing Charges (APC), and readers do not need to pay any subscription or access fees. Code of Ethical Conduct
Authors submitting to the Journal of Research and Engagement (JRE) are required to adhere to the principles of ethical research conduct, maintaining an environment of intellectual honesty, integrity, and scholarly rigor. Our ethical conduct policy is grounded in the Principles of Responsible Research and encompasses key responsibilities for all researchers. Below, we outline the criteria for responsible conduct and authorship:
Principles of Responsible Research Conduct
- Honesty: Authors must present information truthfully and accurately in all stages of research, from conception to publication.
- Rigour: Research should be underpinned by robust methodologies, avoiding bias, and ensuring valid conclusions.
- Transparency: Authors must declare all interests, describe methodologies clearly, and openly communicate results.
- Fairness: Properly credit contributors, reference prior work appropriately, and treat all parties in the research process respectfully.
- Accountability: Comply with ethical standards, legal requirements, and relevant institutional policies, ensuring the responsible use of resources.
- Respect: Ensure research respects participants, Indigenous communities, animals, and the environment, minimizing harm and prioritizing ethical practices.
- Engagement with Indigenous Peoples: Recognize, respect, and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in research of significance to them, valuing their contributions and heritage.
- Correction of Errors: Authors must address any errors in their published work in a timely and transparent manner.
Criteria for Authorship
Authorship is reserved for researchers who have made significant intellectual or scholarly contributions to the research and its output and who have agreed to be listed as an author. Contributions considered significant include:
- Conceptualization and Design: Involvement in the conception and design of the research project or output.
- Data Acquisition: Obtaining research data, particularly when it requires significant intellectual judgment or planning.
- Analysis and Interpretation: Performing analysis or interpretation of research data that contributes to the research’s intellectual outcomes.
- Writing and Revisions: Drafting substantial parts of the manuscript or critically revising it to enhance its interpretation.
- Knowledge Contributions: Including Indigenous knowledge where appropriate and justified.
Authors must ensure all contributors deserving authorship are appropriately credited, and those listed as authors accept responsibility for the published output.
Plagiarism Policy
JRE takes research integrity and the detection of plagiarism seriously. To ensure the highest ethical standards, the following measures are in place:
- Plagiarism Detection: All submissions are screened using advanced plagiarism detection software to compare submissions against a comprehensive database of published work.
- Misconduct Prevention: JRE actively works to identify and prevent research misconduct, including:
- Plagiarism (unattributed use of others' work).
- Citation manipulation (misrepresentation of references or improper self-citation).
- Data falsification or fabrication.
- Ethical Breaches: If plagiarism or misconduct is detected at any stage (pre- or post-publication), the article will be rejected or retracted, and further investigation will be conducted.
- Author Accountability: Authors must ensure their submissions are original, properly referenced, and free from intentional or unintentional plagiarism.
Commitment to Research Ethics
JRE is committed to promoting responsible research practices, and authors are required to ensure compliance with international standards for research ethics and integrity. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to:
- Adhere to the guidelines outlined in this policy.
- Declare any conflicts of interest.
- Respect ethical considerations for research involving human participants, Indigenous communities, or animals.
In cases of ethical concerns, errors, or breaches, JRE reserves the right to take corrective actions, including issuing errata, retractions, or reporting misconduct to the authors' institutions.
JRE shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication. JRE uses web-based tools to check submissions against databases of scholarly publications.
Acknowledgement and Funding
The involvement of anyone who does not meet the authorship criteria but assisted with the preparation of the manuscript content should be acknowledged. All sources of funding, the role of the funding body should be declared.
Declaration of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organisations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work.
Research data
JRE encourages and enables you to share data that supports your research publication where appropriate.
Ethics and Approvals
Manuscripts reporting studies involving human participants must include a statement on ethics approval and consent. The name of the ethics committee that approved the study and the committee's reference number (if applicable) must be provided as well.
ORCiD ID
We encourage authors to supply ORCiD IDs during manuscript submission.
Essential Checks
- Make sure you submit the final version of your manuscript. No changes can be made to manuscripts that are accepted for publication.
- Do not submit papers to Jornal of Resilient Economies (JRE) if they are under review elsewhere or have been published elsewhere.
- You need to obtain permissions from the copyright holder for all figures, and tables if they have been published elsewhere.
- Submit your paper as a Word file
- Do not use abbreviations or reference citations in the abstract.
- Define all non-standard abbreviations when they first appear.
- Include all supplementary data files with your submission.
- After we have reviewed your manuscript, we may ask for editable files, higher resolution figures, or edited files to fit journal style
General Guidelines for Writing an Academic Paper
This guideline provides a general structure for academic papers. Each section should be well-organized, logically flow from one to the next, and provide sufficient detail for readers to understand and evaluate your study. Be sure to tailor your paper to the specific requirements and expectations of the journal to which you plan to submit.
Title:
- Choose a clear, concise, and informative title that accurately reflects the content of the paper.
- Avoid jargon or overly technical language in the title.
- Consider including keywords that reflect the main themes of the paper.
Abstract:
- Write a brief and comprehensive abstract that summarizes the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
- Clearly state the research problem, objectives, methodology, key findings, and implications.
- Keep the abstract within the recommended word limit set by the journal.
Introduction:
- Introduce the research problem or question and provide its context and significance.
- Provide a clear rationale for conducting the study and highlight the gap in existing literature.

- Briefly outline the structure of the paper.
Literature Review:
- Provide a critical review of relevant literature to establish the theoretical framework and context for your study.

- Highlight gaps, controversies, or unresolved issues in the literature.
Methodology:
- Describe the research design, methods, and procedures used in the study.
- Specify the research approach (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods), data collection methods, and data analysis techniques.
- Explain how you selected your study participants or sources.
Results:
- Present your findings objectively and concisely.
- Use tables, figures, and graphs as appropriate to enhance the clarity of your results.
- Provide clear labels and captions for visual aids.
Discussion:
- Interpret the results and explain their implications.
- Relate your findings to the research objectives and the existing literature.
- Discuss any unexpected results and potential limitations of the study.
- Address the theoretical and practical implications of your findings.
Conclusion:
- Summarize the main points of the paper.
- Restate the significance of your study and its contribution to the field.
- Suggest avenues for future research or further exploration.
References:
- Cite all sources used in the paper accurately and consistently.
- Follow the APA citation style required by the journal

- Include any relevant information about ethical approval, conflicts of interest, or data sharing.
